A Need for Closed Beta

Our team is incredibly proud to announce that Oriole Insights will conduct a Closed Beta. Beforehand, we’ve conducted an alpha-testing for 300 people. After, we successfully fixed minor errors, made some design updates, and improved the user experience. This proves that a community-oriented approach is the only way to do business.

And now, we have a product good enough to be released for a broader audience. We still need to ensure it will be as good as it gets by Public Release. That requires a lot of testing and multiple points of view to catch every minimal fallacy in mechanics or user accessibility. Simultaneously, nothing can outperform the math. Thus, we need to get data on how the project would work in real-life circumstances. With thousands of users working at one time, we’ll get a cohesive picture of the platform.

Closed Beta Overview

Closed Beta will last three months, from 27th November 2023 to 27th February 2024.

The process of registration is as simple as it gets. You just follow the link — Oriole Insights and fill out the form on the Oriole Insights website.

After the Closed Beta, we will have a Public Beta, which will be provided for a broader community.

(Notice: your reputation, number of ORI, and accuracy won’t be saved in the next stage to be competitive after Public Release. With the Public Release, everyone will have a common starting point.)

How to participate?

We aim to attract a representative amount of users so that the membership range is 2000–3000 people. This a big deal, so we want our participants to be passionate about their role; the most significant threat is the influx of bots, which will diminish the test results.

That’s why we will choose users based on their activity:

We will look at Twitter activity to understand a person’s passion and interest in the crypto industry.
We also would consider Wallet activity as a measure to distinguish people from bots.
Other public info may be checked for ground assessment if needed.
We pay attention to users’ real-life values and principles. That’s why the holders of the UA Cat Division NFT collection would be granted priority access.

We will choose 2000 to 3000 users based on these criteria. The users chosen for the Beta Test will be announced on 27 Nov, 2023 in our socials. Each one will also get a notification letter on their e-mail.

What are the duties?

Let’s dig into what users will do through this Beta Test. As usual, the goal is to assess the functionality of the product. You will have full access to the prediction platforms. That means you can utilize all the capabilities that would be later added to the public launch. You should place your votes, cancel them, update levels, collect reputation, use boosters, etc. One should try to get a cohesive platform experience and fully use its potential.

Tester’s functions include:

Users should look for small bugs and dysfunctions while actively using the platform.
Assess the quality of UX and UI design and create informative feedback on the features he finds obsolete/imperfect.
All the findings should be reported appropriately. The user should write both concise and precise reports. With bugs, the user can just report them; if the tester sees a fallacy in UI/UX design, he should give a clarification on what exactly should be changed.

There would be a specific mechanism of tester-team communication. Reports on bugs should be submitted to the Discord bot, named “Support Ticket.” All other notices, advice, and creative ideas should be written in a special chat on Discord.

What are the rewards?

We want to remunerate the users who donated their time and effort to our cause. That’s why we’ll keep track of testers’ activity in Discord, the bugs they collected, and the rate of their successes in Zealy. Additionally, we will assess the accuracy and vote rate of the users. Those passionate about Oriole Insights will be noted in the future.
